Before You Begin

LaborCoin operates on Polygon and uses Human Passport, formerly Gitcoin Passport, verification to help prevent duplicate accounts, governance abuse, and automated participation.

You will need the following:

Step 1: Set Up a Crypto Wallet

LaborCoin supports WalletConnect as well as MetaMask and other compatible wallets.

If you already use a supported wallet, simply connect it when prompted on the Exchange, DAO, or Governance pages.

If you are new to cryptocurrency, MetaMask is a recommended wallet and provides an easy way to get started.

Your wallet allows you to interact with the LaborCoin Exchange, DAO registration system, and governance platform.

Store your recovery phrase securely. Never share your recovery phrase with anyone.

New to Crypto Wallets?

MetaMask is a self-custody wallet. You control your own funds and recovery phrase.

LaborCoin cannot recover lost recovery phrases or wallet access.

Step 2: Switch to Polygon

LaborCoin operates entirely on the Polygon network.

Ensure MetaMask is connected to Polygon Mainnet before attempting to use any LaborCoin feature.

Step 3: Obtain POL

LABR is purchased using POL on the Polygon network.

Before using the exchange, ensure your wallet contains sufficient POL.

POL may be purchased through supported exchanges and then transferred to your Polygon wallet.

Step 4: Create a Human Passport

Visit Human Passport and connect your wallet.

Human Passport allows users to build a reputation score using verification methods known as "stamps."

LaborCoin uses Passport verification to support one verified identity per participant.

Step 5: Increase Your Passport Score

If your Passport score is too low, you may need additional verification.

A score of at least 15.0 is required.

Common ways to increase your score include:

Passport requirements may evolve over time as anti-abuse protections improve.

Step 6: Buy LABR

Once verified, you may purchase LABR through the on-chain bonding curve exchange.

Important
